The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law at the University of Karbala organized a seminar on legislative treatments to reduce the phenomenon of increasing divorce, presented by Professor Dr. Haider Al-Shammari, Assistant Professor Dr. Adnan Hashim Al-Sharoufi, and from the Family Guidance Center at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, Dr. Amer Al-Abbadi.

The seminar, which was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ahmed Shaker, and his assistants, the scientific Professor Dr. Alaa Al-Hussaini, and the administrative Professor Dr. Haider Gharib, and a number of teaching professors, employees and students, discussed the reasons for the high divorce rates and their impact on the family and society, the legal legislation in force and its role in reducing the phenomenon, in addition to legal and reform proposals to enhance family stability and reduce cases of separation.

The seminar witnessed extensive discussions on ways to enhance legal and social awareness, and the call to develop laws and preventive measures that contribute to building a more stable society.

The College of Law at the University of Karbala seeks, through organizing these activities, to discuss legal issues that have a direct impact on society, to contribute to finding solutions to some of its problems.
